Ward was born in MonroeLouisiana, on April 151976. Monroe Christian School was her private Christian primary school. For her secondary education, Ward first attended Ouachita High School. She later transferred into River Oaks High School during the summer following her junior year. She did a brief stint at Northeast Louisiana University after graduating. Ward started modeling at the age of thirteen. She left school to go into New York. The beginning of her acting career came after a few years afterward. She was first cast uncredited in the late 1970s for the soap opera All My Children. Later, she was cast in the NBC's prime-time drama for teens, Malibu Shores. The character of Chloe Kmet was hers in 2009 in which she was the mother of a teenage girl in the ABC Family drama Make It or Break It.
