Antonietta Collins

Antonietta Toni Gonzalez-Collins is she is a Mexican American sportscaster. She is an ESPN news anchor and hosts SportsNation occasionally. She started working at ESPN in the year 2016. Her mother is the TV reporter Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta was bilingual from her age of nine. Her skill was instrumental in helping her land her first role as an assistant to the production team at Univision Miami in which she was a producer of the shows Nuestra Belleza Latina and Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud. In the following years it was announced that it was the CBS affiliate in St. Petersburg employed her as a sports reporter. The year 2009 saw her move into Rio Grande Valley, Texas to work as journalist for The Spanish channel KNVO TV 48 Univision and Fox2 News. Reporting on stories about immigration and trafficking in drugs on both sides of the Texas-Mexico border, she was a reporter for an evening newscast at 5. p.m. Spanish newscast a anchor later and a reporter on news at 9 p.m. newscast in English in addition to a reporter again for 10 p.m. Spanish newscast. She also filled in anchors of sports and weather. She then anchored and reported on Univision's Dallas affiliate Deportes 23 where she was granted more responsibilities. She was a reporter for events like the Major League Baseball ALDS ALCS World Series, the Dallas Cowboys and NBA Postseason, as well as the finals of FC Dallas FC Dallas Stars. Also, she hosted the local Univision 23 sports show Accion Deportiva Extra. She was a host of sports for the morning show on Despierta America Deportes. She worked in the same role as Primer Impacto on UniMas Network, and Contacto Deportivo for its magazine show. Antonietta was born in the city of Veracruz, Mexico. The family moved into Mexico City, where Antonietta Collins was born on November of 1985. She is the older sibling of her parents. In 1992, her family moved out of Mexico and moved to Miami. Her parents divorced soon after and her mother married with a naval architect called Fabio Fajardo who passed away from kidney cancer in 2006. The time of summer when she was with her sister and her sister in Canton Ohio where the older Collins girl had gotten an employment. Antonietta was at the end of her senior year in high school However, she had a clear idea of her career goals. She went to Mount Union University in order to decide if it would be a good fit for her. The result was that she enjoyed the university and that the school offered the major she wanted. After completing her studies, she was admitted to the university with a degree in media studies. Mark Bergmann was her professor as well as the director of WRMU in which she is a part of. They had a very close connection. Her professor Mark Bergmann inspired her with his enthusiasm about journalism. Also, he deeply affected her.
