Angela Evelyn Bassett (born April 15, 1961) was an American actress. In the film and television industry, she is known for her numerous nominations and awards. Bassett originates from New York New York. She was born in Winston-Salem North Carolina. Bassett's mother had split from her father at around five. She and her younger sister later relocated into St. Petersburg Florida with their mother.
